SuriPaco has stepped into the blog world to “talk” with everyone who is interested in our alpaca industry. Who are we? A Maine alpaca farm with 60 plus suri alpacas, 20 cria on the way in 2010 and a growing domestic yarn program relying on U.S. producers and manufacturing. The two parts of our name – “Suri” – having the characteristic of a “lustrous” alpaca and “Paco” – meaning alpaca in Quechua reflects what we believe is our emphasis on a unique type of alpaca livestock while honoring the South American origins that have contributed and continue to help advance a U.S. alpaca industry. Travel with us through the alpaca journey – both through our farm and the continued development of a U.S. based commercial fiber industry. Welcome to SuriPaco’s Blog
